K

Key n. 1. The means to unlock either the GATE to the TRUCK or the door to the POP SHELLS PORCH in RECEIVING: Who's got the key? 2. The means to unlock the chute to the GARBAGE COMPACTOR in the GROCERY BACK ROOM.

NOTE: As a matter of STORE policy, when not in active use, every perimeter door or outside access point is always to be kept locked, with its ALARM ARMED. This helps prevent THEFT or other forms of SHRINK. Sensible, but this means that to do your job of the moment, you'll sometimes need to get the Key. The Key should always be in the possession of either the DEPARTMENT MANAGER or MANAGER-ON-DUTY. Considering the responsibility it represents, always take extremely good care of the Key, and return it immediately.

Kill v. To completely take down or remove a PRODUCT DISPLAY: Kill that Detergent.

NOTE: Unless told otherwise, Kill always includes WORKING the removed ITEMS, i.e., first to the SHELF and then to either the SPECIALS RUNNERS or BACK-STOCK with both the CODE and quantity of remaining CASES being put in the GUN.

Knife n. See BOX CUTTER.
